I've attended trade shows before in my previous occupation. I spent a ton of money, and had 0 leads to show for it... It sucked! But it didn't need to be like that. If I knew back then what I know now, and if I had the right tech, things would surely have gone differently. There are two parts to this: Pre-Event Outreach: Imagine showing up with a list of people who you already have pre-arranged conversations with, so you don't have to spend the whole time hunting for them. Post-Event Outreach: Allows you to keep up with not just those who you were able to meet, but also with those who you didn't get a chance to. Giving your team a ‘badge scan’ goal… Sets them up for failure at large trade shows. I met a BDR who’s team had a goal of 650 ‘scans’. And, 10 qualified meetings. ^That’s a conversion rate of 1.5%. 🤯 The team was so focused on ‘scanning’ badges. They failed to: - Have meaningful conversations - Capture & log detailed notes - Book follow-up meetings Measuring your team on the no. of badge scans… Sets them up for failure at large trade shows. When you are preparing for the demo Write 1-2 questions for each person that’s joining the demo + when you hit your WOW moment in the demo Ask for everyone’s feedback before moving on. Most sellers direct all their questions to the person they spent time with on other calls. Learn to engage others on the call Bonus 🔥 If new joiners to the call ask questions. Write them down and then email them 1:1 after the call reconfirming.
