🚨The September 16th deadline to apply for the Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM) is fast approaching, and Thyme Care is supporting practices with the application process and will even provide a free opportunity analysis to gauge potential performance. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently made improvements to its oncology-focused value-based payment model, EOM. 1️⃣ Monthly per-member payments are increasing from $70 PBPM to $110 PBPM. For dually eligible beneficiaries, the payment will increase from $100 PBPM to $140 PBPM. 2️⃣ The threshold for repayment back to CMS is more favorable for practices; they will now need to repay CMS when costs exceed 100% of their benchmark as opposed to 98%. Thyme Care Medical Director of Oncology and Medical Oncologist of Tennessee Oncology Samyukta Mullangi co-hosted, while Thyme Care CEO and Co-founder Robin Shah was on the panel alongside other oncology leaders, discussing all things specialty value-based care. The panelists discussed the importance of specialty VBC, how to account for variations in patient populations, and what metrics actually contribute to reducing cost while providing high-quality care.
