Last weekend marked the final showing of 'The Making of Job,' a dramatic theatre production that I had the pleasure of stage managing… and wow, what an experience! Having had no prior experience with a production of this scale, this was an incredible opportunity to develop my management and organisational skills. For those who've been involved in a production, you know the immense amount of work required to ensure it runs smoothly. I didn't fully grasp the weight of this responsibility when I agreed to take it on, but I'm deeply grateful to the dedicated cast and crew who made it all possible. Theatre is such a powerful art form, and working with Sandra Conley Mau (Director and Writer) has been truly inspiring. Witnessing her vision come to life was a remarkable experience. The end result was a play that was beautiful, emotional, and thought-provoking. Speaking with attendees and hearing how much they enjoyed and were moved by the performance has been incredibly rewarding. Angus Clark, your portrayal of Job transformed words on a page into a complex, emotional character. You made him someone we could sympathise with, understand, and connect with. You, along with the rest of the outstanding cast, brought the story to life. To the AV Crew (Jack Drummond, Hugh Humphris, and Nicole Miles), your hard work behind the scenes often goes unnoticed, but your efforts were crucial in making everything run seamlessly. You were a joy to work with and essential to the production's success. A heartfelt thank you to the Revival Centres Church Volunteers, especially the Bellarine assembly, for sponsoring and assisting us with the GPAC performance. Your support, organisation, and delicious food made the show possible! Our performances in Geelong were not just about showcasing an incredible production; they also served a greater purpose. The Bellarine Assembly dedicated the profits for our mission fund in Malawi, helping the churches there generate drought-resistant food sources. These contributions will go a long way in providing essential resources and assistance to the communities in Malawi. Geelong Arts Centre, thank you for hosting our Geelong performances. Your crew's dedication and assistance were instrumental in fulfilling the vision for the show. They went above and beyond to help us make it the best it could be.
