What an amazing S.P.A.R.K. event! We organized the first live co-founders “Speed Dating” in Miami this past Thursday, June 13th, and we can’t wait to host our second one in September. These are some of the things we learned in the process: 1. We are going to be calling it “Speed Networking” from now on - we understand how it can be confusing 🙃 2. Even though there were tropical storms in Miami, people still showed up - there’s a need for business networking. 3. Every person had 3 mins to talk to a potential co-founder, and they were constantly asking for more time - there’s eagerness for ideas and business conversations. 4. So many co-founders were surprised on how much they learned from each other - structured networking often motivate us to be more open and effective. This Friday, March 1, 2024 is the next Friday Morning Meetup! From 10:30 - 12:00 pm The Forks Market, 2nd Floor Couches (It’s central and it’s free!) You don’t have to sign up - just show up! (It’s always on the first friday of the month: April 5, May 3, June 7…) For business owners, at any stage of business, who want to meet other entrepreneurs IN REAL LIFE to expand their network, deepen current relationships, and take part in creating their own business community. I was shaking. Yesterday was a rollercoaster of emotions as I attended my first networking event by Business Link AB as a new entrepreneur. I won't lie; I was very nervous, but here's the kicker - no one else knew! 🤫 (or so I think) Prepping for the event, I honed my pitch in the mirror, even getting my husband involved in impromptu Q&A. (shout out to him) Lesson learned: ➡️ It's not just about the pitch; it's about connecting and bringing value to others. Authenticity is incredibly refreshing, so aim to connect authentically. Invaluable insights from the speakers, and engaging with attendees melted away nerves. ➡️ Listen more; talk less. To those jittery about networking - prepare, yes, but beyond that be yourself, be kind and be humble. Trust me, you'll make lasting relationships and meaningful connections.
