💡 Did you know that 1 in 6 people globally are affected by infertility? Yet unfortunately it is a topic often surrounded by stigma and misunderstanding. This week (April 21-27) is National Infertility Awareness Week in the U.S. with this year's theme being “leave your mark.” We at Tilly want to open up the conversation around infertility and drive change within this area. For instance, we believe it's time for schools to start educating students on fertility - not just how to prevent pregnancies, but also that a successful pregnancy is not given - and that providing emotional support for fertility patients should be the norm rather than the expectation. In this recent article Tilly's founder Jenny-Ann Axson Johnson, former fertility patient, shares her thoughts on #NIAW and the importance of breaking the silence around infertility: https://lnkd.in/dfdQZgde #NIAW #NIAW2024 #FertilityAwareness #BreakTheStigma

Infertility and Subfertility are two different conditions. The causes of infertility and subfertility can vary, and it is essential to pinpoint these causes to determine the appropriate course of action. Infertility is a condition that denotes the inability to conceive or achieve a pregnancy after regular, unprotected intercourse for at least one year (or six months for women over 35). On the other hand, subfertility is a less severe condition compared to infertility. It signifies a reduced level of fertility, where couples may encounter difficulty in achieving pregnancy but still maintain a reasonable chance of conceiving naturally with time and effort. To learn more, read this informative article by Dr lavi Sindhu, Consultant at Birla Fertility & IVF, to understand the crucial difference between these conditions for informed decision-making. How many IUI cycles can a woman undergo? The number of IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) cycles recommended depends significantly on the age of the female undergoing treatment: - For women under 35 years of age, typically 3-6 IUI cycles are considered. However, if success is not achieved after 3-4 cycles, the likelihood of success decreases, and it may be advisable to consider transitioning to IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) for a higher chance of conception. - For women over 35 years of age, it is generally recommended to attempt only 2-3 IUI cycles. If these attempts do not result in pregnancy, moving on to IVF is often recommended due to the diminished effectiveness of IUI with increasing age and the more time-sensitive nature of fertility at this stage. This approach helps in optimizing fertility treatment strategies based on age and the effectiveness of IUI, ensuring that individuals and couples receive the most appropriate treatment for their situation. #cloudninevashi #ivfjourney #ivf #ivfsuccess #ivftreatment #ivfclinic #choosingivfclilic #ivfclinicvashi #ivfclinicnerul #drprajnashetty #infertilityawareness #ivfclinicseawoods #fertilitytreatment #fertilityjourney #fertilitydoctor #fertilitydoctorvashi #fertilitydoctornerul #iui #intrauterineinsemination #unexplainedinfertility #maleinfertility #fertilitytreatment #fertilityjourney #fertilityconsultantnavimumbai #fertilityclinicnerul #fertilityconsultantvashi #drshettyfertilityclinic #drprajnashetty #drprajnashettyfertilityconsultant

It’s National Infertility Awareness Week. Did you know that was a thing? No? Me neither. But now that we do, hear me out … As a solo mom by choice, it’s obvious that I needed help to build my family. But, what most people don’t know is that I’m also the #1in5 that has faced infertility. So I REALLY needed help. Here are my stats: 🗓️ 6 years 👉 5 IUIS (2 rounds each) ⚕️2 egg retrieval procedures 🧪 2 IVF rounds 🥚 17 eggs retrieved 👎 0 viable embryos (<< oh hi, infertility) 👉 2 different egg donors 👉 5 different sperm donors 🧪 2 more IVF rounds 🤍 4 embryos ⚕️ 4 embryo transfer procedures 😔 1 failed transfer 💔 2 miscarriages 🥰 1 easy, uncomplicated pregnancy 🧸 1 amazing kiddo And here are some more: 🩺 Over 100 dr. appointments 💉 Who knows how many shots. (A {very} small fraction of spent needles pictured below) 👉 Only 6 PTO days taken for fertility-related reasons (not including maternity leave) ⬆️ 2 promotions at work 🚫 No fertility coverage 💲Well over $100k out of pocket costs (<< still paying it off & thankful for those promotions) Fertility coverage is a big deal. Not only for the obvious financial impact it will have on families (1 in 5!) but by including it in a benefits package, employers help to normalize it. We’ve made great strides in the area of mental health and wellbeing—in large part due to employers making it a priority in their benefits packages. Imagine the relief, gratitude and loyalty felt by our employees, colleagues and friends if their dream of building a family was supported by their employer. ✨ (Side note: once my mostly-male department leadership learned of my pregnancy, and in any related conversation that followed, I had tremendous support. They’ve been amazing. And they know who they are 😉) #nationalinfertilityawarenessweek #niaw #breakthestigma #fertilitybenefits #1in5 #luckymama #smbc #fertilitycovered

Fertility, drastically low IVF success rates, and a highly successful Naturopathic approach to having a Baby Countless couples around the world are struggling with fertility challenges. IVF has shown to not be as successful as many had hoped. The latest 2023 data published in FORBES by SART (Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology) reported if you are a Woman between 37 and 40 years of age, you have only a 20.2% of having an IVF live birth. For a Woman between the ages of 41 and 42, the percentage drops to 9.6% IVF success. And if over age 42, a Woman has a sad 2.9% IVF success rate. Also, let us consider the numerous side effects that come along with IVF treatments while couples gamble with this low success rate. Yet, there is another way. A proven way used with my patients for 29+ years. Of my many patients over the years, the most mature Woman whom conceived successfully was 48 years of age, pregnant for the first time in her entire life, and now overjoyed with a healthy child in her life. Read her story in my book... Allow me to support you both, as a Couple, on an Epic Fertility Journey. Infertility is the failure to achieve a pregnancy after 12 months of trying. Here are the Top 10 stats you need to know to get a sense of this health issue. 1) 17.5% of couples experience infertility globally. In some places it is over 20%. 2) 1/3rd is male factor, 1/3rd female factor and 1/3rd unexplained causes. 3) Depression and anxiety affects 1/4 women with infertility, as high as 54%. 4) It takes about 3 years to get a diagnosis; much longer to get a baby. 5) The most commonly known treatment, IVF, has a ~70% failure rate. 6) Access to treatment is de-funded; NHS trusts reduce from 3 to 1 IVF round. 7) Prices vary for private treatment, between £5k - £8k per IVF cycle in EU. 8) 50% drop in fertility rate in last 60 years (3 to 1.6 children per woman in EU). 9) Life expectancies in the same period increased from high 60s to low 80s. 10) By the end of 2024, there will be more over 65s than under 15s in Europe. Somebody you know is probably suffering. My wife and I can’t have our own biological kids. By sharing our story over the last couple of years and coming to terms with it finally, and doing something about it, probably more than 20 people in my network have come forward privately and asked for help. Low sperm count making us feel less manly, recurrent miscarriages that you can’t grieve because of useless work policies, IVF post code lottery forcing second mortgages, breaking down at Christmas when someone asks “Why don’t you just adopt?” …we’ve seen it all. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental and private ear to ANYONE going through this. Email: frank(at)efp.clinic LinkedIn: DM privately This is NOT a commercial offer. Reach out to me privately, Andreia Trigo or Beatriz. You are certainly not alone.

According to the World Health Organization, infertility affects 1 in 6 adults worldwide, leading many people to turn to fertility processes such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), which has resulted in the birth of more than 10 million children since 1978. 🤰🏼 However, not everyone knows in depth how IVF works or the challenges that this journey in assisted reproduction entails. Understanding the realities of this technique is crucial for patients to better prepare for what they may face during this process. That's why I want to highlight this article from the Allure portal, which brings together testimonies from 30 women sharing their experiences with IVF. Emotional challenges, personal experiences, hope, discouragement and empowerment are some of the themes that emerge in these stories, reflecting the daily realities of those who undergo this treatment. https://ow.ly/SqYm30sGfec #IVIRMAGlobal #Fertility #AssistedReproduction #IVF
