Our colleagues Jorge Luis García van Gein, Nina Bougas, Lianne Jones and Elmarie Potgieter are currently at the 10th International Table Grape Symposium. Taking place this year near Cape Town, sitting at the very heart of both the South African wine and table #grape industries. On the symposium to date, Jorge Luis García van Gein commented "It’s been wonderful to interact with the many growers and other table grape experts attending. We’ve also been introducing our newly developed Active #ethylene control bag for the shipping of grapes to export markets – the level of interest has been fantastic.” Designed to control ethylene’s impact in rachis (stem) browning and dehydration, our Active bag has already demonstrated its potential to reduce defects by over 50% in long-range shipping (c. five weeks in duration). These results have been achieved during trials out of both South Africa and Latin America. For more information on the benefits we can provide across the fresh produce #supplychain, get in contact with us or connect with our people at the symposium. #sustainability #foodwaste #freshproduce #harvest #storage #transit #RSA #10itgs

The 10th International Table Grape Symposium (ITGS) was a fantastic event last week. With over five hundred participants (49% international and 51% South African), the symposium's theme, 'Where Science Meets Industry,' sparked engaging discussions, and we were proud to sponsor this significant event alongside TopFruit. Everyone at the symposium was talking about the ARRA varieties, the only table grapes available for tasting, thereby clearly demonstrating how early these varieties are. On display were ARRA Honey Pop™, ARRA Passion Star™, ARRA Passion Fire™, and Early Sweet™. Delegates were eager to taste and enjoyed every bite. Reflecting on the symposium's success, it is evident that the collaborative spirit of the grape community is propelling us toward a future defined by sustainability, innovation, and excellence. The early ARRA Varieties, with their unparalleled taste and early maturity, embody the spirit of progress that will undoubtedly shape the future of the table grape industry. Let's continue this journey of exploration, learning, and innovation together. The 10th ITGS has set the stage for what promises to be an exciting chapter in the evolution of table grape cultivation.

At Wonderful Citrus, every level in the organization is expected to be #citruspeople! We have to learn our business and know how to support/lead in our sphere of influence. Thankful for great leadership and future as not only Citrus People but the leaders in the Citrus industry. Want to join us? Check out the link to our open roles in the comments!
Wonderful Citrus President and past Product Management, Sales, and Operations executive. Third-generation ag leader. Autism dad.
Chris Cockle, Alex Montoya, Jim Loewer, Paul Heller, and I visited Florida to learn more about operating with Citrus Greening (HLB), the practices and technology giving growers hope, and how industry pressures manifest themselves locally. We appreciate our fellow #citruspeople, their openness, and hospitality. Relevant Fact: Since 2003 and due mostly to HLB, US citrus acreage shrank from 1 million acres to 600 thousand, while its production declined by more than 60%. My Takeaway: It will take a broad citrus community to write the next volume of our citrus story. However, failing to align on a complex matter like HLB could leave us all with emptier pockets and limited progress to show for. I trust our industry will make strides in 2024. Count us in.

DEAR CRAFT CANNABIS LOVERS! Ok, sorry for the caps lock, but we are so proud to be hosting Maryland's first craft cannabis competition, judged to the highest standard exclusively by professional Ganjiers! Our competition will be a true celebration of the best cannabis the Maryland terroir has to offer! This will be a celebration of sun and soil, open to craft farmers growing in soil/sun based systems. The gold standard for truly amazing cannabis comes from the genetics adapted to the regional terroirs of the world, and like wine, is best when grown in full sun for a full term. If you are a full sun, full term, soil based cannabis grower then we would love to invite you to compete in The Green Crab Craft Classic! Interested parties should email [email protected] to add yourself to the mailing list. We are open to home growers, micro-licenses, and standard licenses in the state of Maryland only (if you are in another state and would be interested in hosting a craft competition...talk to me...), all entries will be given an official and professional grade (similar to how wine is graded), and Competition rules, registration requirements, and entry fees/categories will be emailed out soon and competition registration period will be from 4/20 to 5/20, plants in the ground by 5/21 and then we are off to the races. Sponsorship packages will be available as well and interested businesses who support the craft cannabis community should also reach out to [email protected] for more information. Let the 2024 craft cannabis season begin! #ganjier #cannabiscompetition #emeraldcup #craftcannabis #regenerativefarming #livingsoil #fullsunfullterm #investor #sponsorship #cannabisinvestment
