It's easy to feel lost in your career. Like you're not sure whether you chose the right company or industry. or like you're too old to be a leader or too young to be important. The way I found to escape this feeling was to do things. To take action. To collect data. To let experiences challenge my beliefs and to prove to me what I was capable of. Otherwise all you do is overthink everything. Replace feeling lost with experimenting & you'll discover untapped potential. <<<>>> ✍️ Have you ever felt lost in your career? ♻️ Reshare if you found this helpful.
Would be cool to see schools embracing this. The more you do, the quicker you'll know what you want to do.
Yeah I'm really embracing your anti-niche philosophy! I'm a wild butterfly who likes to write all sorts of different topics and genres. It's boring for me to write about the same thing all the time. And what I'm interested in writing, can lead to career opportunities as well (though it can be quite indirect). Getting audience feedback helps too. Much better than just staying in our heads!
Untapped potential takes leaps and bounds when those lost feelings are replaced by action - feedback loops, all while keeping a calm mind. Being vulnerable and taking your chances is THE key.
Experiencing different work environments is essential for personal growth. After you have done that it is much easier to know what route you want to take in life.
Step out of the ‘confusion’. You might find a world that aligns with your goals and values. You won’t know unless you try. It beats staying in a career fog.
This is a much-needed reminder, Tim. “Collecting data” through experiences instead of overthinking... Now that's a refreshing perspective. It’s like going on a personal career adventure, where every step provides insight and adds to your story. Experiences become the “data” you use to chart a path toward your true potential.
Absolutely resonate with this! Taking action and experimenting can truly be transformative. It's amazing how stepping out of our comfort zones and trying new things can lead to unexpected growth and opportunities. Have you found any particular experiences or actions that were especially pivotal in your journey🌟
So true, I did start a couple of business. All while looking for something that I am already good at. I have finally found it, after 3 years of search. Started the business on a whim, found our first client today. Its too early but I am hopeful. The biggest point is, I was not aware that I was capable and already experienced in this niche.
Taking action is a solid strategy to combat feeling stuck! But, do you ever worry if constantly "experimenting" might lead you to burn out or lose focus on what you truly want? How do you strike the right balance? Any advice would be great. -Your support in following my page is greatly appreciated.
