Climate Change legislation, funding, subsidies, et al, bringing $billions into the economy is like a moth to the light of money scams and shell games. The latest version of an energy/real estate boom CYCLE is in full swing in my Liberty County and investors are in for another round of "pin the tail on the donkey". Look at this one. Permitting 7 underground storage wells at the TXRRC with announcements of grand illusions, the tail wagging the dog. My personal saying from one who is a 6th generation Liberty County legal/energy family Republic of Texas: "Same horse different rider". Get it? h2 and more saving the planet. Wet'suwet'en leaders say the pipeline development will put Indigenous communities and important cultural sites at risk — not to mention cause major environmental damage.    We believe in investment as a tool for social and environmental good, but far too often it's used in ways that harm communities and the planet. Now is a crucial time to stand against this system. Earlier in the year, Invest in Our Future was delighted to learn that 11 of our grantees won awards from the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, which promises to expand access to capital for clean energy projects in disadvantaged communities.   Some of our grantees produced fascinating proposals, like the Clean Energy Fund of Texas, Inc—a green bank within the Texas Solar for All Coalition that secured $156 million from the GGRF.   The Clean Energy Fund of Texas is going to use their portion of the award to finance solar and storage projects at over 40 minority serving institutions in Texas and other southern states. Half of the energy produced by these assets will go to the institution itself, and half would help power the surrounding community—lowering residential energy bills by up to 25 percent. At the same time, the Fund will be able to finance other sustainable retrofits, like heat pump and LED installations.   Invest in Our Future’s grant will provide the Fund with added resources to accelerate deployment GGRF dollars over the next five years while they simultaneously build up their nonprofit investment arm. Shares of Devon Energy(NYSE: DVN) rose by 13.9% in March, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. The move came down to a combination of an increase in the price of oil, from around $77 a barrel at the start to about $83 and Devon management anticipates that its drilling activity in the Delaware will boost well productivity by 10% in 2024. https://lnkd.in/gm5i8VR8

ENB's Slugcatcher mulls over the prospects for Woodside Energy after its recent investor day. "The share price fall after management had done its best to market the company might have been explained by the weakening oil price last week, but that test fails because Woodside's 5% fall from $33.73 on the day before the November 8 meeting to $32.03 at the close on Friday was more than double the 2% drop of arch rival Santos Ltd over the same time," noted the Slug. A "need to have" Vs "want to have" policy is a strategic approach to resource allocation, emphasising the prioritisation of essential requirements over desirable but non-essential elements. The distinction involves categorising activities and areas of investment need as either crucial for basic functioning or, desired for meliorating existing plans and procedures, creating growth, improving efficiency and encouraging innovation. This policy guides decision-making, particularly in budgeting, where resources are directed first towards fulfilling needs before addressing wants. Needs are considered non-negotiable and take precedence due to their significance in preventing negative consequences or hindering progress. Wants, being subject to negotiation and compromise, are addressed after essential needs have been satisfied. The implementation of such a policy necessitates clear criteria, transparent communication of these criteria to stakeholders, flexibility to adapt to evolving circumstances, and periodic reviews to ensure alignment with overarching goals and priorities. Ultimately, this approach ensures that resources are strategically invested to meet core objectives while accommodating non-essential desires based on available resources. Arguably, when an area of policy is so heavily centred around innovative technology both policy strategies carry equal weight... That's just my opinion...
