Embracing the Global Perspective I want to express my gratitude to #AU and Richard Linowes for offering a class that allowed students to create a personal mission aligned with our career goals. It's a powerful reminder that our career choices should resonate with our mission. My mission has always been clear: to change how African Americans are viewed locally and globally. This mission has led me on an incredible journey, shaping my decisions and taking me to corners of the world I never thought I'd explore. From launching a record company in Stockholm, Sweden, to working with music in Uganda, every step has been about dismantling stereotypes and fostering understanding. What I've discovered along the way is truly enlightening. Working with diverse groups of kids worldwide, I've realized that we share more similarities than differences. It's because I adopted a global perspective, refusing to isolate myself from the broader world we live in. This perspective has empowered me to communicate, connect, and collaborate effectively with people from around the globe. I hope everyone gets the chance to break free from their comfort zones and experience something different, yet profoundly similar. We all share a deep, innate connection, waiting to be discovered.
