Last week, I moderated a panel discussion at London's first "Road to START Summit," a collaborative venture hosted by Kickstart Global in partnership with START Global and King's Entrepreneurs Society. A quick recap: The night featured six startups, each given five minutes to pitch their ideas, followed by a three-minute Q&A. They competed to pitch on the main stage in Switzerland in front of ~8k people. The night kicked off with a discussion between our judges: Andrew Mitson, Lyubov Guk, and Camille Templé. We delved into startup challenges, London's vibrant startup culture, and lots more. Keeping a conversation lively and engaging for 30 minutes is not easy... though it was an excellent experience for me and an enriching experience for all who attended. Congrats to our top contenders: Recrewty (Danilo Đukanović), Micromeetup (Reese Wong), and VisaWire (Preet P.). I'm excited to attend the main summit in St. Gallen on March 21st with Doğa Er and Aishwarya Agarwalla. By the numbers, there will be 6000+ participants, 170+ speakers, 30+ unicorns, and 900+ investors. This would not be possible without Benjamin Beckh! There's something special about London's startup ecosystem. I'm stoked to play a part, but I'm getting a little sad about returning home in eight weeks. Not mentioned but involved (there are so many): Pascal Finn Krebs, Prakriti Garg, Ayani Mohamud, Yassin Ali, Saira Shahzad, Kamya Marwah. I'm definitely forgetting a few, but thanks to everyone who helped!
