Divide & conquer by pitting groups against each other is an effective strategy for maintaining control. It protects the status quo. Non-Black POC against Blacks; Immigrants against Blacks; Blacks against Blacks (go figure!) The common denominator? anti-Blackness. Interesting article about how non-Black immigrants are complicit in the racial order - with Blacks on bottom. Sadly, there is widespread anti-Blackness. It’s why I’m not surprised to see Blacks over-represented at bottom levels in most organizations. I remain hopeful that true allies will come to learn the truth about American history and acknowledge the anti-Blackness that continues to exist so we can root it out. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” We are one house. Isn’t it time to unite? We can all win. #antiblackness #uncomfortabletruth #racismrunsdeep #history #allGodschildren

At the risk of straying from my lane, may I offer the observation that there is an innate tendency among humans to find reasons for conflict. If it isn’t race, it’s colorism. If it isn’t color, it’s religion. Or weight. Or income. Or age. Or gender. Or politics. Like two kids fighting over the last cookie, people are wired for conflict. Whatever thing they are fighting over is not necessarily the real issue.

When one’s status as a victim is valued as a way to gain benefits in an organization or community, you can rest assured that people will remain “victims” of something and via for apex positions in differentiating victimhood in order to receive the largest share of attention and compensation. Believe it.

Tina ,This is very insightful and true. France and England played this divisive game against Germany who had many independent states until Bismark united the country .Look at the consequences and carnage that ensued because of Germany's hatred of the West after being duped into internal strife.
