I'm excited to have completed the year-long MIT xPRO’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Program. This has been a transformative journey culminating in a 2-day learning and networking event at the MIT campus.
After 20+ years at The New York Times, this program was pivotal. As a former GM overseeing a small business unit, the COO program was the perfect opportunity for my professional growth.
The comprehensive 20-week core program and the elective courses in AI and IoT expanded my capabilities. This experience nourished my intellectual curiosity and equipped me with a versatile COO mindset applicable to various professional endeavors.
During the program, I navigated multiple responsibilities—from managing client projects to advising a start-up to starting a new job at dmg media—all while balancing personal commitments like training for the marathon (and then recovering from knee surgery) and family responsibilities.
I am immensely grateful to David Golub, my family, friends, and the exceptional team at MIT, especially Ali O'Malley, PhD, PCC, and Emily Schmidt, for their support. A special shoutout to the cohort of executives whose diverse experiences enriched the program. Connecting with many of you last week was the highlight of the program!
