What Royals and modern leadership have in common! Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Princess Astrid of Belgium to the grand opening of our new Mobility Center in Brussels Charleroi. This brought me to the broader question if there are any similarities in between a tradition-driven monarchy and the state of the art leadership we are observing in many companies nowadays. And in fact, I saw a few: Comittment to service & community - what means an involvement in humanitarian and public health efforts for Princess Astrid, is the impact of sustainable transport solutions and innovative workplace practices for us at Flibco. Being royal means being a royal role model too - while I sometimes feel like being a involuntary Influencer for digital transformation, the power of serving tradition, continuity & national identity is one of the main responsibilities of people like Princess Astrid too. Progressive thinking & diplomacy - what sounds like being totally standard, is a challenge on the second thought. Royals need to balance tradition with state of the art, like we try to combine our core values (to never forget where we came from) with innovation too. My deepest respect goes out of the responsibility & actions of the rare Royal families that still act on behalf of European countries. While we are mostly talking about company »leaders« on LinkedIn, looking at those of other categories is worth it too.
