Timing is everything in fundraising. In fact a member recently shared with me that the intelligence we gave her to hold off on engaging with a potential partner her organization was prospecting until the Fall, when new funding would be released, simply made her job so much easier. She said that for her role, it's so much about timing, and having that bit of intelligence positioned her well in front her team and leadership. We all want to feel "in the know" or appreciated for what productive capacity we bring to a dialogue about partnership. Sometimes even a fragment of insight can be the difference. How do you position your decision making around effective timing and intelligence?
