Our summer season at the Ausable Club is winding down. Each summer we host seasonal staff that help us provide great service to our members. I have posted about our great interns, but I wanted to introduce, and give a huge thanks, to our J-1 students. For those of you who may not know about the J-1 program, it is a cultural exchange program called Summer Work & Travel where college aged students from around the world come to the US each summer to not only work, but experience American culture, improve their english and share their culture with us. It is a great program and we are proud to have welcomed many to the Ausable Club. We have been blessed over the years with fabulous J-1 students from all over the world, who also teach us a few things. This year we hosted 14 J-1 students from 10 countries. They are a special group of students. Prior to coming to the Ausable Club they did not know each other, but they bonded fast. I am amazed each year that these young people, who do not know us, put their trust in us and travel a great distance for their Summer Work & Travel experience. This is a competitive program and most of our students had multiple offers with which to choose. They put their faith in us to provide them the experience we promise, as well as keeping them safe and providing them the opportunity to get the most out of their time while in the US. I asked them for a photo with all of them together and I am amazed that they were able to do it, with each working in different departments and having different work schedules. Our J-1 students this year came from Mongolia, Romania, Tajikistan, Slovakia, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Spain, Croatia, Lithuania and Uzbekistan. Thank you Norjinsuren, Aiym, Magdalena, Una, Bea, Salma, Arianna, Delgerzaya, Ziyo, Jak, Gavin, Matej, Albert and Javier! We could not have asked for a better group of students! I am very pleased that they have departed the Ausable Club with great memories and new friendships. That's the goal.

For the Region of Tuscany and Anci Toscana, the regional association of municipalities, INTERCEPT represented a way to expand and foster a multistakeholder network to outreach NEETs and to test a possible solution to bring young people closer to the green job’s market opportunities. Anci Toscana signed a MoU with ARTI, the regional PES, which was involved in the activation of internships, by checking the elegibility of applicants and ensuring a green dimension in the 12-week placement as well. Anci Toscana delivered the common 25hs green training to all selected participants, strongly supported the matching of demand and offer of green internships and it funded, managed and monitored the job placements. A peculiar aspect of the Italian pilot is that the 25hs green training was delivered remotely only to applicants who had already been matched to a hosting company for the job placement phase: this element helped overcoming logistic and timing constraints and made it easier for the interns to fully complete their green internship. Simone Cappelli (Regione Toscana) and Elena Conti (Anci Toscana) are now taking part to a panel discussion on the challenges of the project implementation, on the solutions designed to overcome them and on the future perspectives for development and mainstreaming of the pilot in Italy. #InterceptProject #GreenJobs #EEANorwayGrants #EEAandNorwayGrants #YouthEmploymentMag #FundforYouthEmployment EEA and Norway Grants https://lnkd.in/eWpwFKD2

Did you know that going on a semester abroad will not be a financial burden? The semester abroad is an integral part of each Bachelor program at Karls University. The International Office prepares students for their unique experience through intercultural reflection workshops and practical tips during the upcoming Bridge Week. While you may think spending a semester abroad will be a financial burden, quite the opposite may be the case. Through generous Erasmus+ funding and the efforts of our colleagues in the International Office, you can receive extra Erasmus+ top-ups when going abroad within the EU: students with fewer opportunities (e.g., working students or students from non-academic families) are awarded monthly top-ups of €250 in addition to the normal grant. About half of our outgoing students are already benefiting from this! We also provide Erasmus+ International scholarships for destinations outside the EU, including the UK, and fund internships in the Global South. This aligns with our critical global perspective, enabling students to practically experience theories discussed at Karls University. #studyabroad #semesterabroad #internationalexperience #erasmus #erasmusplus #interculturalexchange #internationalstudents

Participating in the Education Fair at Marriott Marquis Washington, DC: Insights and Guidance for Young Indians. Abigail Ruiz-Sierra, MBA Lucy Carone Elliott Thank you so much. I recently had the privilege of participating in an education fair held at the Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC, USA. Representing our country in this international forum was an enlightening experience. I chose to wear traditional Indian attire, which not only highlighted our rich cultural heritage but also stood as a testament to our values and traditions. Key Observations: Value Beyond Appearance: Contrary to what some might believe, I observed that attire and appearance were secondary to the substance of our interactions. The participants, representatives, and attendees were all eager to engage in meaningful conversations, sharing knowledge, and exploring various educational perspectives. This environment underscored the notion that in an academic and professional setting, what truly matters is the depth of your knowledge and the breadth of your expertise. Emphasis on Knowledge and Skills: The fair provided a platform where individuals from diverse backgrounds could come together to discuss and exchange ideas. It became evident that your knowledge, skills, experience, and expertise are your most valuable assets. These attributes command respect and appreciation far more than outward appearances ever could. Guidance for Young Indians: As you prepare to represent India on international stages, it is crucial to focus on developing your knowledge, skills, and expertise. Here are some points to consider: Cultivate Knowledge: Invest time in learning and expanding your academic and professional horizons. Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in your field. Hone Your Skills: Practical skills are just as important as theoretical knowledge. Engage in internships, workshops, and hands-on projects to build a robust skill set. Gain Experience: Seek out opportunities that provide real-world experience. This could include volunteering, part-time jobs, or participating in professional organizations. Develop Expertise: Strive to become an expert in your chosen field. Specialization can set you apart and make you a valuable resource in any discussion or collaboration. Pride in Representation: When you represent India internationally, remember that you carry the pride and heritage of our nation with you. Share your values, education, skills, and knowledge with confidence. You will not only receive appreciation but also feel a deep sense of pride in yourself and your country. Open for Further Guidance: If you have any questions or need guidance regarding international opportunities, feel free to reach out. I am here to help you navigate and make the most of the global stage. Thank you!
