AI-Powered Fuel Software | Refined Products | Supply Optimization

One of the world’s largest refineries just started operating in Nigeria. With a crude capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, the Dangote refinery is slightly larger than the biggest facility in the USA (Motiva’s Port Arthur refinery). This new refinery is big enough to supply 70% of West Africa’s gasoline import demand and is therefore, having a significant impact on waterborne refined products movements in the Atlantic Basin. European gasoline cargoes (largely from Belgium and Netherlands) destined for Nigeria will have to find new homes, and Dangote will start competing with the European-USA trade. Multiple gasoline cargoes have already made their way to the US. For the US, excess gasoline supply should reduce prices during higher demand summer months, but the added competition for distillate fuels sports, particularly in South America May impact some US refiners. #global #refining #newrefinery https://lnkd.in/g74zDgVx
