💡 Wondering how to assess the effectiveness of digital tools for your #patients? Here's a quick guide: When recommending digital tools to patients, effectiveness is key. But assessing #evidence in #digitalhealth requires knowing what "good" looks like. It's about considering functionality, focus area, target audience, and intended use. One size doesn't fit all. Proportionality matters. That's where evidence standards frameworks (#ESFs) come in. They tier digital health products based on their #IntendedUse, helping identify the type of evidence needed. For instance, a #DigitalTherapeutic, like a #mentalhealth #chatbot, might require an RCT, but for a mobile headache diary, user reviews and evidence of user acceptance may be sufficient. Similarly, a #physiotherapy #HealthApp for elderly balance improvement should have evidence from a sample of older adults; if it only has evidence of benefit in young, fit adults, then it's unable to evidence the benefits with respect to its intended purpose. To quickly assess the evidence of a #digitahealth product: 🔎 Identify its intended purpose. 📃Use an evidence standard framework (like NICE's). 👨👩👧👦Ensure the evidence supports the intended use of product - are the sample, setting and outcomes relevant to the intended purpose? 💻ORCHA users can visit the professional assurance tab on each #HealthApp for insights on ESF tier, evidence base, and compliance. #DigitalHealth #EvidenceBasedPractice #HealthcareTech #ORCHA #NICE #Clinicians
