Grief and Trauma Therapist • Corporate Trainer/Speaker • Organizational Development Consultant • Program Evaluation Consultant

As a trauma and grief therapist, I spend much time sitting with the hurting. I have seen a significant increase in the number of clients who come to me due to violent crimes. The question is, how do we reduce the number of violent crimes and the number of violent offenders on the streets of Memphis and the surrounding Mid-South? One tool was proven to help support the appropriate detaining of violent criminals and those with an increased potential for violent crime. Is the justice system in the Mid-South, especially in Memphis, utilizing this tool to aid in the battle against violent criminals being on the streets? If not, then why? Our judges should be adhering to this risk assessment in addition to their professional experience/instinct when determining whether to release or detain a criminal. https://lnkd.in/gC5ZKdAm
