What would I recommend to any student right now in higher education? This: Find problems. Demonstrate how you’re solving them. Ask great questions. Be proactive about finding solutions. Is this design? Basically, but it also shows personal responsibility and extreme ownership over the problem. You’ll be more valuable in an interview than 99% of other candidates. Meet Clark! 👋 In Clark D. Stuart II's 22 years as a Navy SEAL, he was responsible for a wide range of operations conducted worldwide and has been a special U.S. representative to foreign heads of state on matters of national defense. His advanced knowledge of intelligence operations made him a leader in researching and developing tactics used in the global war on terrorism and current ongoing operations. Clark has been a Leadership and communications instructor, mentor, and advisor for over 22 years. He has trained major corporations and all levels of federal, state, and local government. He is a recognized leader in the field of influence and communications. He holds a Master of Science in Management degree and conducts Teambuilding, Leadership, and Communications skills training worldwide. Clark D Stuart’s distinguished career as an officer in the U.S.Navy SEAL community included being the Advanced Training Officer and Scout Sniper Instructor for the Navy’s elite counter terrorism unit. These experiences gave him an insight into the different training and learning methodologies applied by individuals working towards attaining their goals. Random thought for the weekend. Quote applicable to security, training, well...everything. Lots of times attributed to modern military groups (who modified it), the original quote is likely from the Greek lyrical poet, Archilochus “We don't rise to the level of our expectations; we fall to the level of our training.” If you have ever been bothered by the level of clean, of completed maintenance, of how events get set up in your facility, I want to challenge you. Did the team fail expectations or in reality simply achieve the level of training you have provided them? Training is many things. Its explaining standards, it is training on tools and usage, it is training on the systems designed to assist in tracking needs. It is investing in the individual at a real level, in a real way. It is discipleship. Have you truly created a culture that facilitates the standard you want to see? Of the millions of square feet of churches and properties Patrick Hart and I have evaluated we can say the honest answer is "not really". Many times it is not because the workers or Facility Manager do not desire to do more...they are not given the time, the budget, or the personnel to achieve the best results.
