A little pesky rain didn't deter this amazing group from today's roadside clean-up! A HUGE thank you to our DPW staff, the Kittery Premium Outlets volunteers, resident volunteers and our Kittery Fire Department volunteers for getting rained on while picking up waste along Route 1 in #Kittery. Our volunteers reported collecting countless cigarette butts and nip bottles along with single-use plastics (like drink cups and straw wrappers) and even a couple dirty diapers (yes, really 🙃). Please remember that what ends up on our roadsides, makes its way to our storm drains, which reach the waterbodies in town that we love so much.
