Our latest research, which has been covered by IFA Magazine, shows that returns on UK Venture Capital investment outstrip returns on all other types of #PrivateEquity investment. Simon Emary says: “#VentureCapital has really proven its value to investors over the past two decades. Previously it had been about picking the right VC funds but this data shows that the category, on average, has outperformed. Being able to access #investment in the fastest-growing companies – like tech and fintech – has delivered very substantial returns.”

The combination of high interest rates, overpriced valuations in venture capital and difficulties for private equity firms to raise new funds made 2023 a challenging year for Latin American companies and financial investors. In the first three quarters of 2023, the volume of venture capital deals in Latin America fell to USD 2.9bn from USD 6.9bn in the same period of 2002, and USD 11.9bn in the same period of 2021.
