TRAC’s close, committed partnerships with SSLs, BCOs and the trucking community afford us ready access to their business data. We can mine that data and compare it to the historical data that TRAC houses internally. By comparing these data sets, we can optimize insights from this information to share with customers to truly understand the equipment needs of our customers on a market-by-market basis. TRAC has a close collaboration with two well-known industry initiatives: the U.S. department of Transportation’s FLOW Initiative and FMC Commissioner Carl Bentzel’s Maritime Transportation Data Initiative. We are actively involved with both programs and fully support the critical work being done by both entities. The collaborations encompass regular meetings with Commissioner Bentzel; input and feedback in helping shape his initiative; allocating TRAC’s operational and technology resources to the FLOW Initiative; and fully endorsing FLOW’s directional path with the naming of TRAC COO Val Noel as a member of FLOW’s executive leadership team. We believe the Maritime Transportation Data Initiative and the FLOW Initiative taken together will deliver more precise market forecasting tools and capabilities for all parties across supply chains.

To everyone, but especially to my students who keep asking where they can get information for their projects on supply chain and logistics courses. Here is a database that you can use to practice and showcase your supply chain analytics skills, and perhaps find something interesting and useful about the supply chain emissions. #supplychainemissions #scope3emissions #publicdatabase #supplychaindatabase
Alex Scott, associate professor of supply chain management, aids in creating a database containing emissions profiles for more than 400,000 motor carriers and millions of trucks, including private fleets. This database aims to make it easier for shipping fleets to report emissions. #SCM #UTKnoxville ""The shipper needs to know the carriers they use, and the miles their freight runs with those carriers. If you have that, we can go into the UT database, which is constantly being updated and refreshed with the latest data, input your information, and get an emissions factor."" - Alex Scott, Transport Topics Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/ejabQcF3

For those of you that have been looking for this detailed information around carrier emissions, Alex Scott is the person you need to be speaking to! He is just beginning to help Axle Logistics scrape the surface of emissions output based on the carriers we hire, so we can not only share this data with our clients, but also do better for the environment where needed. #SCM #BuildYourEmpire

We recently took a major step forward with the launch of Pulse, the AI-driven solution which streamlines data into a single, consolidated view so charterers can unlock critical data and turn it into a competitive advantage. “The inbox is a gold mine of data, but the value isn’t being tapped into, or is too hard to extract in time to make the best fixtures. By removing noise and presenting data to the charterer in a simpler way, Pulse puts relevant data at their fingertips - making it easy to act on quickly.” Check out this blog where we speak with Leigh Steed-Middleton and Alex Crooks from our Product team. They share why we created Pulse, how it works and our vision for the future. #chartering #maritime #shipping

Many of you have probably read about the recent California legislation requiring Scope 3 reporting for companies. Perhaps the most common complaint is the difficulty in measuring these emissions and the administrative burden it causes. In the trucking space, however, this can be done using comprehensive carrier- and truck-level data. Below is an article in Transport Topics discussing some of this.

With recent events bringing even more attention to the supply chain setup, many businesses are facing hurdles hindering their efficiency. 3 x Key Area's often holding businesses back are: 1) Poor Visibility - Carrier led data on excel reporting or manual tracking on container tracking websites such as Safmarine are no good, when the information isn't realtime and manually tracking takes away valuable time. 2) Disconnected Networks - Multiple parties involved within the end to end process. Having to use seperate multiple data sources and platforms makes your supply chain disjointed. 3) Complex Emission Tracking - Ask yourself this question. How can i view my Scope 3 Emissions and who holds this data? Your customers now are making procurement decisions and understanding your carbon credentials, will play a major part of their buying process. Do the above resonate with you? We've put together a free downloadable guide, packed full of data, advice and thoughts for you to encompass in your decision making.
