Yesterday was an exciting day for me. Alongside the Belden senior leadership team, I spoke with employees from around the world in a livestream from the Chicago Customer Innovation Center. I shared our three year strategic plan, and because we just completed our yearlong celebration of Belden’s first 120 years, I touched a little bit on what our next year, 121, and beyond could look like.
Since it was founded, Belden has been known for its innovation. In fact, we’ve been a part of every major innovation that’s occurred—the first television broadcast, the first computer networks, Apollo 11, and now in the International Space Station. And as I told my audience yesterday, we will continue innovating, but with a slight difference. Our innovation will focus on creating the network and data solutions our customers need in a way that maximizes their use of existing technology.
Going forward, we will continue to build solutions that make people feel safe and productive—even when in transit—in a way that’s not intrusive. We want the customers of our customers to move, communicate, and innovate with ease and with no disruptions. In a sense, we want them to use our customers’ products and solutions without giving them too much thought. We’ve charted that path in our past and now we’re taking it into our future.
