Further endorsing our recent publication on limitation of transient elastography in LDLT setting, highlighting this case which I saw last week: 54 yrs lady, donated right lobe of liver 10 yrs back, gets a scare as her Fibroscan shows LSM of 18.5 kPa ! She is clinically fine, with normal LFT. This case shows the fallacy of VCTE measurement in healthy right lobe donors in whom the remnant left lobe regenerates towards the left leading to error in LSM values! So interpret the Fibroscan values in relation to the clinical scenario & avoid it during follow up of right lobe liver donors!!

#worldminoritydonorawarenessday National Minority Donor Awareness Day is an annual observance held on August 1st to highlight the critical need for increased organ, eye, and tissue donations from minority populations. Minorities in the United States, including African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, Asian Americans, and Native Americans, face disproportionately higher rates of chronic illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney disease - conditions that can lead to organ failure. However, these groups are underrepresented on transplant waiting lists. National Minority Donor Awareness Day aims to educate minority communities about the donation process, address cultural barriers, and encourage more individuals from diverse backgrounds to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. By increasing the pool of minority donors, this observance strives to save and improve the lives of those awaiting life-saving transplants.
