Calling all organizations at the nexus of #CleanTechnology, #IndustrialEmissions, #AirPermitting, and #CommunityImpacts: Join ICAC’s open house virtual conversation, “The Opportunities for Clean Technologies in Addressing Industrial Source Emissions,” with Craig Segall from Evergreen Action on April 4, 2024, from 2 to 3 pm ET. Craig will present findings from Evergreen’s upcoming report “Accelerating the Clean Air Act’s Innovation Engine: Opportunities to Reform Air Permitting Programs to Scale Up Clean Technology,” in a session open to all. An ICAC members-only Q&A session will follow. This conversation will cover how outdated federal air permitting doctrines and policies have disincentivized the use of clean technologies, and the role of technology manufacturers in resolving this systematic issue. For 60 years, ICAC has been the voice of the clean air technology community and a trusted resource for regulators seeking technical expertise. We are hosting this conversation with the wider clean technology community because identifying and removing barriers to technology deployment is critical to continuing reductions in criteria air pollutants and air toxics, and achieving a decarbonized future. We hope you’ll join us. Follow this link for RSVP information: https://lnkd.in/eym9-UKa Clare Schulzki-Hessler | Jordan Flanagan | Cassie Lopina

"The existing air permitting systems will not reliably spread clean technologies to other sources, even if the technologies are cost-effective and demonstrated." This is just one major takeaway from the latest Evergreen Action report, "Accelerating the Clean Air Act's Innovation Engine: Opportunities to Reform Air Permitting Programs to Scale Up Clean Technology." Don't miss this critical discussion on barriers to #cleantechnology deployment - and what can be done about it - when Evergreen's Craig Segall joins ICAC in this virtual conversation on April 4, from 2 pm - 3:30 pm ET. ICAC members are in the fight to reduce #industrialemissions and we invite like-minded clean technology companies to the table so we can advance the #cleanair industry together.

⏲️ Are you interested in attending the 15th #ConcaweSymposium but you still need to register? This is your last chance: registration will close on Friday 6th October 2023. The event will take place in person on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th October 2023 in Brussels. This 2023 edition of the Concawe Symposium will focus on "Challenges and opportunities to meet EU’s climate and air quality objectives: How can the fuel manufacturing industry contribute?". What are some of the key challenges of the European Green Deal? This will be discussed during session 1, where the speakers will also touch on the different enabling technologies which could be used at scale to decarbonise Europe. As for latest trends and multi-contribution scenarios, those will be brought to the table during session 2. Day 2 of the Symposium will have urban air quality in focus. The third session will look into the application of mitigation measures for exceedances of air quality limit values at city level and the closing session will focus on source apportionment modelling. There is a lot of hype around ocean CDR at the moment, spurring new research and trials of techniques that were largely theoretical a few years back. Although it’s not yet clear if this will result in a “harmful hype” that could threaten ocean ecosystems, a recent market report predicted the market for ocean CDR will more than triple between 2023 and 2030. ➡ All of that and more in our latest "Demystifying Carbon Dioxide Removal" newsletter: https://lnkd.in/efYiC4fk #carbonremoval #CDR

Coverage and awareness of CDR is up but we still have a mountain to climb in actually scaling up carbon removals. The launch of the 2nd State of CDR report finds a significant gap between how much CDR countries are planning in the coming decades and what is required to limit warming to 1.5C or 2C above pre-industrial levels. But alongside this “gap”, it also finds a rapid growth in innovation, academic research and public attention. Funding for early stage research and innovation can help to close that gap but the clock is ticking and every day we wait for solutions, means a growing CDR challenge. CDR.https://www.stateofcdr.org/
