What is driver skill fade? Then listen to listened to this podcast hosted by Pete Rushmer from Flagship Partners who was talking to driver behaviour expert Lisa Dorn from PsyDrive This is well worth a listen if you are a fleet manager or an employer who have staff that drive for work but not on a regular basis. We all know the less you do a task the harder it is to complete when you come to have to do it. It is exactly the same with driving!!! However, most people and employers do not realise this. By not ensuring their staff who drive for work are up to speed, pardon the pun, with their driving skills leaves every road user exposed to unnecessary risk. #ThanksgivingSpecial: As the boundaries between the physical and digital realms continue to blur, transportation software companies are increasingly embracing cloud-based IT systems and AI to enable data-driven business decisions and reduce driver guesswork. One technology firm pursuing this path is Trimble, a software and telematics provider focused on connecting supply chain data streams within a unified, cloud-based ecosystem. The company believes this more connected approach to IT can empower trucking companies to optimize their planning processes, ensuring precise arrival times, guiding drivers to the optimal entry points, minimizing wasted time at facilities, maximizing asset utilization and enhancing the overall driver experience. In tomorrow's episode, we are joined by Rishi Mehra, the sector vice president of Trimble Inc.’s Maps division. Rishi sheds light on the immense support that transportation technology can provide to enhance the efficiency of the physical supply chain. Subscribe today and tune in tomorrow to gain valuable insights into the transformation of trucking technology: https://lnkd.in/dJNCbi7e

On this episode Brian and Lornett question an infrastructure centered around cars. They begin the episode by discussing the many ways walkable cities are better for our mental and physical health, as well as the economy and environment. They then discuss how the auto industry used its power to lobby the government and make the U.S. a car-centered society. They conclude the episode by discussing successful attempts in places like Amsterdam to build a more people-friendly city structure and the success of high-speed rail. #Cars #EVS #highspeedtrain https://lnkd.in/gAJuuV4C

WHAT EXACTLY IS DISTRACTED DRIVING? Actually, it's many things and really anything that is not JUST DRIVING! This second clip from our live episode on #distracteddriving really begs the question... How do we define distraction so we can properly monitor and manage it? I was lucky enough to have Nancy Murray, CAFM and some other fleet professionals join this #livepodcast and share their perspectives... see the link to the full episode in the comments. #Share your thoughts below: What do you consider distracted driving? How are you building a "just drive zone" in the cabs of your fleet vehicles? #STOFpodcast #episode33clip2 #fleetmanagement #fleetsafety #distracteddriving #epidemic #justdrive #missiontozeroaccidents IntelliShift

We're nearly at the end of this season of Connected Commute podcasts from Boldyn Networks but in some ways we're saving some of the best for last as we get back to talking about trains and stations of the future .... which is what set this whole thing off in the first place. This week Chris Burchett is speaking with the guy known as 'the transit guy' aka Hayden Clarkin and it's nice to bring in a bit more of an American perspective on future public transport. The US used to have this right. Go back far enough and you'll find massive, pioneering and impactful public transportation systems that were then dismantled by automotive culture. When we think of America, we think of cars. Now though, we're in the early stages of a railway renaissance in the US. Amtrak is beefing up again while private operators like Brightline are showing the art of the possible. There is hope to be had for a better future of public transport and thankfully we have champions for it like Hayden. 🎧: https://lnkd.in/g_W2bPdq
