It's Christmas, and for many kids around the world it's New Bike Day. For many, including me, owning your first "proper" bike provided freedom and a sense of both community and escape as a kid. I still get the same feeling riding today, too many decades later.
Revolve ReCYCLING is promoting “bike equity”, recognising that everyone can benefit from having a bicycle and experiencing the benefits of cycling – whether commuting, having fun, competing or exercising. Bicycle equity accepts that due to a variety of circumstances, people may not be able to access a bicycle that suits them, their abilities and their local conditions.
Donate just $80 (or an amount of your choice) this Christmas to help deliver a bike to a child in need – a First Nations child, a refugee, a child with a disability, or a child from a disadvantaged background.
$80 covers the transport cost of collecting and delivering the bike, the cost of parts used to restore and repair the bike, the cost to support and train the volunteers, utilities, storage and other associated costs.
