I had the chance to read the report "Real-World Asset Tokenization: A Game Changer for Global Trade" by Standard Chartered and Synpulse in detail, and here are my thoughts about it. 1️⃣ From my experience, tokenization could become central in the field. However, it is essential to remember that final users need liquidity quickly and the money in the account to accelerate their companies. They don't care how the technology is developed. Trade Finance is a massive investment opportunity, yet banks struggle to effectively cover the small and middle markets. 2️⃣ While pilots like Dynamo and Programmable CBDC are promising, similar applications exist globally without Blockchain, such as trade central registries in Chile, Colombia, and Brazil. These regions have the tech and regulatory infrastructure to manage accounts receivable transfers seamlessly and safely. 3️⃣ Tokenized Supply Chain Finance could simplify inter-region financing, addressing the common issue of funding availability mismatched with demand across countries. This can significantly boost capital logistics. 4️⃣ Creating a unified funding layer on top of regional infrastructures and regulations could create massive value. If standardized, funders could invest in assets without the operational burden of navigating each country's unique systems. However, Supply Chain Finance platforms are often localized, and building a multi-region, multicurrency, and multiprogram marketplace is a complex but worthy endeavor. Supply Chain Finance is an exciting field with much innovation ahead. Let's collaborate to make it more efficient and accessible.
