I've been playing a game recently, which is to see if I can score a community top voice badge for Thought Leadership here on LinkedIn. The bones of an article are generated by Ai and then people jump in and add their two, four, or six pesos (up to 750 words) to help flesh it out. The contributions take me about 10-15 minutes, so not a heavy lift especially since I've been working pretty much exclusively with thought leaders for the past 17 years. After this last one, it occurred to me that the white space I keep finding and filling is always the same and so I wanted to take a minute to point it out. That white space is—empathy. To be a thought leader implies that what you have to say is important/innovative/impactful enough that other people—hopefully lots of other people—find value in following you. The point I'm trying to make here is that even when it's about you and what you think—it's not about you. It's always about your audience. How to find your authentic voice? How will this voice bring you closer to your audience? Collaborating with other thought leaders? What's in it for them? You get the idea. Just something to think about today. #thoughtleadership #empathy

OK, I admit.... we got over-excited. You know when you get an idea 💡 and then it becomes a plan 🗓️ and then you get so caught up in the detail that you forget you're on holiday 😎 and aren't actually around to put it into practice? Well, that's what I did. Ooops. So, the Leadership Labs and Manager Labs that are due to start in September are now kicking off in October. Why? Simply because I haven't had the time to invest in getting everything in place to make sure it is BRILLIANT.
