Has Formula 1 lost its mojo? The demand for F1's Las Vegas Grand Prix needs to increase. Despite some sites preparing for "Super Bowl-level expectations," ticket prices and hotel room rates have decreased, indicating a lack of enthusiasm for the event. According to ticket reseller TickPick, fans can now purchase tickets for the main event on Saturday for $807, down from $1,645. Bloomberg cites several reasons for this loss of momentum, including the fact that #Vegas is not Monaco and the dominance of one driver leading to a lack of suspense. Lastly, TV audiences for #F1 races have decreased by 8% from the previous year. #f12023 #formula1 #lasvegas #lasvegasgrandprix #granprix #F1LasVegas #luxury

Article of the week: Why The Las Vegas Grand Prix Is Formula 1’s Biggest Bet Ever by Forbes. The Las Vegas Grand Prix, marking Formula 1's return to the city after a 40-year hiatus, is described as the sport's biggest bet ever in a Forbes article. The night race on a 3.8-mile street circuit winding through iconic landmarks on the Las Vegas Strip is generating immense interest and hype, with high-priced tickets, sold-out hospitality access, and extravagant packages, including a $5 million offering from Caesars Palace. The event has attracted significant investment, with F1 owner Liberty Media's expenses projected to reach $400 million. Despite challenges, the race is seen as a pivotal move for F1's growth in the U.S., aligning with the sport's increasing popularity and commercial success. Las Vegas, known for reinventing itself, views the Grand Prix as a strategic move to position itself as a world-class sports destination. The article acknowledges risks, including local antagonism and the unpredictability of racing conditions, but highlights the potential economic impact and the commitment of both F1 and Las Vegas to a long-term partnership. The event is seen as a key element in F1's broader strategy to solidify its presence in the U.S. and secure lucrative media rights deals. Link: https://lnkd.in/gZqaBrb6

🏎️ Navigating the Race Track of Professional Development: Lessons from Daniel Ricciardo's Journey 🏎️ Daniel Ricciardo's story isn't just a testament to a racer's determination. It’s a lesson in #CareerResilience and #SelfDiscovery🌟 🔹 Embrace Change: Whether it’s a career transition or a sabbatical, sometimes stepping away, like Daniel's hiatus, is the path to clarity and rejuvenation. 🔹 Celebrate Authenticity: Just as Daniel found solace in music and went back to his roots, tapping into our genuine passions can recharge our professional batteries. 🔹 Overcome Setbacks with a Positive Mindset: Every challenge, like Daniel’s hand injury, is an obstacle waiting to be surmounted. Your response defines your trajectory. 🔹 Team Support with Personal Drive: In F1, a driver is nothing without his team, much like any professional in a corporate setting. Yet, at the end of the day, the driver must self-motivate and push through. His journey exemplifies this delicate balance between relying on team support and finding inner strength. In business, as on the racetrack, it's not just about the destination but the journey. And sometimes, a detour leads us right back to where our passion truly lies. In the face of adversity, rediscover your ‘why’, tap into your core passion, and come back stronger. 💪 #kplusUs #f1

As a local for nearly six years, I can say that virtually no one I know (with one exception) view this event in a positively light. It has been one misstep after another. Here’s my take: As a local resident and outside observer, I have to question whether the organizers truly followed project management best practices. Was there an overall project management plan — including, but not limited to timelines with milestones for a cost/benefit analysis, SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threat) analysis?
Being a huge open wheel racing fan, I'm perplexed by the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Conceived because of the idea that it would be cool to see F1 cars on the Strip, it has a whole host of problems including locals hate it, ticket prices are tanking, track temperature will be an issue, the layout is boring and the sport has become stagnant. The problem is that Formula 1 is telling everything that everything is great without seeking ways to mitigate the bad coverage and address issues and concerns, particularly those of the people that live there. That's my two cents anyway. It'll be interesting to see the results due to the course layout and temperature issues as I won't be watching a 1 a.m. race.
