Still building my understanding of “traditional” Design-Build method of project delivery (yes, that’s what’s it is if it’s not Progressive DB) and I’m sorry to report it isn’t very promising given the limited experience I’ve had in DB and the mindset-altering, immersive exposure I’ve had to IPD on the other hand. As a Collaborative Delivery champion I do embrace the performance potential the DB form of agreement has to offer but sincerely hope that we will continue to improve how we deliver DB projects - key is to do so without losing the default Owner-Architect partnership that ensures Projects achieve desired outcomes that go beyond bare minimum requirements. And yes, Government projects are well-overdue for a contractual upgrade. :)
