Ever get a message that screams 'You're invited to X event", just to realize it is not an invite, but a polite ask to open your wallet... Let's Be CLEAR: if it costs to enter, it's not an invite, it's a ticket sale. Call it a 'pay-to-join event' or a 'finance-our-fun fest'—anything but an 'invitation'. So, here's to calling things by their real names and saving the word 'invite' for occasions that truly mean, "Come, be our guest" and not "Come, be our investor" are TWO different things. So, before hitting me up with 'an invite,' double-check it aligns with what I love and interested in. I’m all for opening my wallet for events that spark my interest.
