🚨 Why is the relentless pursuit of growth the gold standard for startups when it's leading us down a path of environmental destruction and social inequalities? In our most popular episode yet of 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮, Dr Melanie Rieback challenges the idolisation of venture capital by shining a light on its role in perpetuating financial extraction and inequality. The message: Venture Capital isn't the oasis of innovation we're told. It's a desert draining our collective potential. If you listen to this and it doesn't change something inside you, you have some big questions to ask about why you think extracting from the world is okay when it's clearly destroying it. 𝗔𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: - Why do we celebrate this devastating extraction of wealth? - Why do we give these people microphones? - Why do we let them influence our future when they're mining it for themselves? 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱: "This episode was life-altering!!!" Elizabeth "This is one of the reasons why women are flocking AWAY From VC" Leela "This episode exploded my brain and ruined my breakfast" 🌊 Vinko "So important!! Thank you for turning heads and changing minds" Ethan "An extremely interesting subject I'd often wondered about" Joshua "Super thought provoking. I need to listen again!" Sally "Loved this episode!" Tharun 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 is available wherever you get your podcasts. Things are changing. And we're just getting started at Maslow®. I'm in the fundraising process, and like every first-time startup founder, I have been reading literature about it—everything from blogs, podcasts and videos to having 1:1 conversations. Except for a few honest 1:1 conversations, most of the literature focuses on "How to tailor your pitch to investors?" or "What would make your pitch attractive to investors?" At some level, this advice reminds me of how pursuing engineering or an MBA has shifted from a passion for the subject to a game of cracking entrance exams.

“We're just in this environment of impatience and instant gratification where we want quick flips and turnarounds, but those are rare. You need to build it the old-fashioned way—build it over time and grow it.” ^^^ That’s George Rossolatos, CEO & Managing Partner of Canadian Business Growth Fund, talking about marketing and brand investments on an episode of the Private Equity Value Creation podcast. Dive into the long-term investment tactics he recommends companies embrace for more sustainable growth—and how to avoid the “over-burn and under-deliver” trap many tech startups fall into. 🔥 https://lnkd.in/eDCDbSUe

Life isn't about just living in highlights, it's also about embracing the daily grind! These were amongst few of the many awesome insights that Shauraya Bhutani shared with me as part of the latest episode of my #podcast. Listen in to this episode for some heart-tugging insights and experiences that Shauraya shared, including: 1) The ideal attributes that #angel #investors should keep in mind; 2) Foresights that #founders trying to raise #funds should keep in mind in the current ecosystem; 3) The importance of understanding what #values you currently can bring on board and how can you leverage these to continuously upskill yourself Please do share your feedback and do share this with your friends and family.
