Guess who's back, back again ... It's TruSummit Solutions' Senior Salesforce Developer Mike Chandler with the third in his four-part demo series on #SalesforceMaps. In this video, Mike demos two strategies for implementing distance and drive time lookups between locations, beginning with the simplest implementation: a real-time, API lookup. Then, Mike moves on to demo a more complicated implementation in which data is saved to a junction object to avoid making repeat requests to the Salesforce Maps API. PLUS! Mike goes under the hood to demo a new, soon-to-be-released open source tool called TSS Maps (stay tuned for more on that!). Rest API support is everywhere (Think applications like @Jira, Salesforce , and HubSpot ). Why? They want to give customers the flexibility to pull and work with their data. 💪 But when should you use a REST API? So, one scenario I can imagine is when the application has little to no built-in analytics within their UI. Let's break it down. 👇 By exporting the application data via Rest API, you can programmatically push it into a tool like @Knowi. The benefit of doing this is that you can supplement your application data with context from other applications — and your own business data. And this unlocks insights you otherwise wouldn't have had. 🔐📈 If you're into this idea, you can (and probably should) book a demo. 👉https://lnkd.in/eTmwKdDc #DataAnalytics #RestAPI #RestAPIdata #BusinessIntelligence
