!! Security And Development Teams Are Siloed !! This above point is the top reason for DevSecOps to fail. And, we still see/observe so much of the above. Mostly security team being left out. There is no DevSecOps, if security team is not at centre of it. There is no DevSecOps, if developers do not play a role in its design. We still see a large number of organization creating a tool mess which does not serve any purpose, just because, security team has not been involved in to DevOps and tooling. When someone from engineering teams states that, yes, we have integrated security tools in DevOps, without any specific plans from security team, it has no meaning. Security Team Needs To ... 1. Design security controls framework 2. Create an rule/policy exception model 3. Provide tools recommendations for scans 4. Create remediation and regression framework 5. Model feedback for developers and stakeholders Integrating some vulnerability scanners in DevOps chain & communicating to security team that DevSecOps has been implemented, will create more & more problems for engineering than any solution. #devsecops #securityautomation #cicd #applicationsecurity #vulnerabilitymanagement
