I just got back from an amazing trip to India, where I had the chance to sit down with Paroma Roy Chowdhury to discuss ‘The Rising Relevance of APAC on the Global Market.’ During our discussion, we identified five key elements business leaders must consider while navigating the current business climate. A special thanks to Bhaskar Majumdar and CommsAdda for hosting an insightful event. It was a pleasure to engage with thought leaders from various industries, and I look forward to the next one! 1)    #Geopolitics: With national elections in 76 countries, businesses must brace for significant geopolitical shifts. To navigate these changes, companies should: - Plan contingencies to safeguard assets and manage reputational risks - Build cross-functional teams to monitor geopolitical trends - Prepare for policy changes that could impact the way you do business 2) #Capital Markets: Challenges persist despite a positive economic outlook in 2024/2025. Companies should consider: - Enhancing team guidance, especially during mergers & acquisitions. A successful company transition and integration requires a unified vision and clear communications - Planning for the impact of the reshuffling of supply chains from mainland China to India and Southeast Asia 3) #AI: Rapid AI adoption presents opportunities and risks. Business leaders should: - Set clear visions for AI integration and implement open communication to mitigate job-related anxieties - Manage AI responsibly by implementing structured approaches - Navigate varying global AI regulations carefully and align strategies to avoid compliance pitfalls. 4) Media and #Misinformation: The rise in misinformation during elections necessitates proactive measures. Companies need to: - Invest in direct public engagement and robust social media strategies - Prepare for sophisticated misinformation tactics targeting reputations and investor sentiment - Enhance scenario planning and media monitoring to preempt emerging narrative risks. 5) #Climate and ESG: With the increasing urgency of climate action, businesses must: - Turn sustainability policies into actionable strategies and align your policies with evolving global regulations. - Foster internal awareness and empower the implementation of sustainable practices - Anticipate the financial impact of ESG on investments, particularly in response to new regulations and market expectations. As you integrate these insights into your strategic planning for 2024/2025, remember that your role is crucial in shaping the future.

Recently, CommsAdda hosted a thought-provoking session with Weber Shandwick on 'The Rising Relevance of APAC' in the Global Market, featuring insights from Tyler Kim 🎙 CEO of Weber Shandwick APAC, skillfully moderated by Paroma Roy Chowdhury 🎙 part of Advisory board CommsAdda. Here are the key highlights for #CorpComm professionals: ➖ AI is the Future: Companies are urged to develop robust AI policies and strategies for responsible and strategic deployment in their operations. ➖ AI for Crisis Preparedness: Leveraging AI-powered simulation models can greatly enhance readiness and effectiveness in managing potential crises. ➖ Sandbox Your AI Initiatives: It's advisable to pilot and refine AI tools in controlled settings before scaling them across the organization. ➖ Expertise Elevation: There's a growing need for #CorpComm professionals to deepen their expertise, potentially expanding into roles traditionally held by Human Resources, driven by their strong communication and engagement skills. ➖ Adaptation and Skills Showcase: To stay valuable to their organizations, professionals should adapt their skills to excel in areas like employee engagement and ESG, aligning with long-term company objectives.
