🔍 The Principle of Contrast Contrast affects how we perceive the difference between two things or events that follow each other. 🤔 How does the principle of contrast work? Imagine dipping your right hand into a bucket of hot water and your left hand into a bucket of cold water, and then placing both hands in room temperature water. Your right hand will perceive it as cool, while your left hand will feel it as hot, even though both hands are in the same water. 🛍️ This principle is widely used by sales experts. In a men's clothing store, a customer who has already bought an expensive suit is more likely to spend more money on accessories than someone who came in just for accessories. Why? Because compared to the high price of the suit, the cost of a belt or cufflinks doesn't seem as significant. 🏡 When selling real estate, a savvy realtor often takes potential buyers to see a few rundown properties and mentions an astronomical price before showing them the actual, decent house. Just saw this vidcast. This is essential information for entrepreneurs. It has great information for new entrepreneurs and for those with established success. My takeaways: We often learn more from our failures than our successes. There is a difference between work and effort! Businesses require dedication and a laser focus to be successful. If success came easy, everyone would be doing it. Success requires moving outside ones comfort zone and doing things that may at first seem difficult. We often know what we need to do to be successful; overcoming the obstacles (fears, procrastination, and other mental hurdles) are what is required to reach our goals. Creating relationships and networking is key to success. Successful entrepreneurs are book readers. Decide what you want, find people to help you get there, take consistent action, and put in the effort. Prepare for the successes and the failures. Absolutely worthwhile to watch this content. Over 300 designs, endless hours, zero reward? Discover how I'm turning a creativity crisis into a game-changer this year... Last year, my creativity was expressed through the creation of 300 bespoke clothing designs — each one expressed my passion and dedication. However, it seems that excessive productivity may have its drawbacks. An alarmingly high number of these designs - around 200, to be precise - were left unchosen by clients. The fact that the majority of these sketches were given away pro bono to potential clients only added insult to injury. As the year concluded, I found myself questioning the trajectory of my creative process. Taking stock of the situation, I've resolved to implement two fundamental changes in the year ahead: 1) I will no longer provide free designs. The time, effort, and creativity that goes into each piece are valuable, and it is only fair that it be recognized and compensated as such. 2) I will put a limit on the number of designs I present to clients. Instead of overwhelming clients with options, I will focus on delivering a curated selection of high-quality designs. With these changes, I hope to reshape my creative process to be more strategic, impactful, and rewarding. I would appreciate your feedback on this approach.
