⚖️How to create an ecosystem where NO patient would be left behind? 💬This is the question that Alexandra Heumber Perry, Michelle Mitchell OBE and Jean-Christophe Tellier tried to address by giving their own perspective during an epic round table at ChangeNOW dedicated to Health for All. 🤔3 thoughts that I would keep from their talks: 1) Engage as much stakedolders as possible toward the same objectives along the value chain, the network, the ecosystem, or whatever how we call it and beyond healthcare players 2) Connect the dots between climate change and environnemental issues with healthcare stakes, considering health as an investment and not only as a cost 3) Leverage wisely and ethically on new technologies, and as the whole world is going crazy about it - AI and especially GenAI is currently changing our ways of providing care 🎬Let's see HOW to turn these thoughts into concrete actions, as Kare Williams said during the previous keynote, "Small actions done repeatedly drive change". 🧠Regarding AI, we are not only talking about accelerating drug development or personalizing medicine - it is also doing better and more for patients: how much time do GPs look at their screen during consultation rather than their patients? HCPs do need to enter data and write digitally their medical report, but AI tools may support them to spend more time looking at their patients. On December 14, leading health care providers and payers announced voluntary commitments on the safe, secure, and trustworthy use and purchase of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in health care. These voluntary commitments build on ongoing work by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the October 30th AI Executive Order, and earlier commitments that the White House received from 15 leading AI companies to develop models responsibly. Twenty-eight businesses signed the commitment, including Boston Children’s Hospital, CVS Health, Emory Healthcare, Geisinger, Houston Methodist, Mass General Brigham, Rush University System for Health, Tufts Medicine, and WellSpan Health. These organizations commit to notify users of largely AI-generated information, adhere to a risk management model, and pledge to investigate and use AI responsibly, including developing solutions that advance health equity and coordinate care. In the field of health care, every second counts.
