Extremely excited to be starting with West Midlands Rail in January with Jamie Ainsworth MRAeS Tech IOSH and his team. All part of a safety culture proof of concept programme of work. We were fortunate enough to have Jamie exposed to the Heathrow safety culture work while at Virgin and he immediately saw the application of that model and tech to rail. Great to see such awesome thought leadership in this sector to complement the work being done in other sectors like airports, health, sport, FMCG and several other sectors coming on board…. All wanting to understand their safety culture, use data and insight, benchmark against each other and work collaboratively to bring about systemic change for the sector as a whole. We know from our work in other sectors this will be a game changer for rail with the ability to measure safety culture against best practice, monitor continuous improvement and sustainability while using leading and lag data to provide the organisation and C Suite with the assurance they need to understand that they are tracking in the right direction and measuring ROI of their safety investment spend relative to safety and business performance. Like with other sectors within 12 to 24 months we will again be able to prove the hypothesis that increasing safety culture has a demonstrable impact on workplace harm and improvement in business performance. Turning safety language into business language and potentially creating a ‘Rail Safety Culture’ dashboard in the same way we have done for airports. Can’t wait to January Jamie. It will be such a awesome and innovative solution to bring to rail. The sort of stuff the Safe365 team love being apart of… having a positive impact on reducing harm in the workplace while bringing to life new ways of understanding safety culture, data and insights.
