Some interesting insights from FEANTSA into the cost offsets when homelessness is ended through Housing with Support. Emergency accommodation does not end homelessness, the right housing does.
📺 The latest Arte Europe Weekly focuses on homelessness in Europe: the latest trends, root causes, and the EU's role in combating #homelessness. The episode includes an interview with Freek Spinnewijn, Director of FEANTSA: 🎙'There is progress in terms of policies and service provision, even if the numbers go up. We've never housed more homeless people than now. The problem is the #prevention of homelessness; we have to step up a gear.'

SecondGrace.LA - Organizing Angelenos to End Homelessness In the battle against homelessness in Los Angeles, there are countless unsung heroes. These are the volunteers, the community organizations, the faith groups, and the everyday citizens who have rolled up their sleeves and said, "Not in our city." These grassroots warriors are on the frontlines every day, providing food, shelter, support, and most importantly, hope to our unhoused neighbors. But as the homelessness crisis has grown, so too has the realization that these scattered efforts, however heroic, are not enough. To truly make a dent in this issue, we need coordination. We need collaboration. We need a network that can harness the collective power of all these individual efforts and turn it into a force for systemic change. At Peak Living Services we're tackling systemic homelessness head-on in West Virginia, with a focus on three key populations where we've made significant strides: veterans, re-entry individuals, and the disabled community. Veterans: It's an honor to say that we now provide services to 2/3 of the state's homeless veterans. Our mission is to extend this support, ensuring that no hero is left without a place to call home. Re-entry Program: With a staggering 95% success rate, our re-entry program is rewriting futures and drastically reducing recidivism rates. While the national average hovers around 70%, our approach provides the stability and resources necessary for a successful transition back into society. Disabled Community: Our tailored services for disabled individuals experiencing homelessness are designed to create accessible, supportive environments where they can thrive. At Peak Living Services, each success story fuels our drive to end homelessness. Join us in celebrating these milestones and become a part of the movement towards a future where everyone has a place to call home. #PeakLivingServices #HomelessnessSolutions #VeteranSupport #ReentrySuccess #DisabilityInclusion #WestVirginiaCommunity #SocialImpact

Good advice on bumblebees habitats... 🌼 keep some long grass for ground nesting bees. 🌼fill a birdbox with dry material such as laves and dead grasses for those that like nesting up high. 🌼 keep areas of your border undisturbed for those that like nesting in the ground.
Bumblebee queens are on a mission to find somewhere to nest – and they urgently need your help 👑 #BeeTheChange this spring by providing nest sites for homeless bumblebees 🐝 Discover how you can help 👉 https://ow.ly/T1SM50QOBwm

3️⃣ things you probably didn’t know about TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION! Rough sleeping is the side of homelessness that we can see but the majority of homelessness remains hidden. There are currently 250,000 people living in temporary accommodation, most of whom are families with young children and in the midst of a #costoflivingcrisis, numbers are likely to increase, unless we do something about it now!! #housingcrisis #ukhousing #homelessnessawareness #housingmarket #endhomelessness #costofliving #ukhomelessness #homelessministry #church #faithinaction
