In our third grassroot community Dialogue at A Million Hugs in partnership with International Solidarity Foundation sensitizing the community on Gender Based Violence and one of the attendees Made a really strong statement: "We as women have failed our Children by staying in bad marriages with irresponsible men. We are expose our children to violence to what end?" Many women around the world are currently trapped in abusive marriages, where they face violence on a daily basis. However, thanks to awareness campaigns like the one we conduct, more and more women in grassroots communities are recognizing that their fundamental rights are being infringed upon. As a result, they are beginning to take steps towards their own emancipation. This progress is crucial in empowering women and ensuring their safety and well-being. #endGBV #CommunityDialogues #StopViolence

Today is the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people who, despite making up less than 5% of our country’s population, are more frequently targets of violence than any other group. According to Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses (OAITH) monthly femicide report, three of the four confirmed femicide victims in August 2023 were identified as Indigenous, and a study released by Statistics Canada | Statistique Canada confirms that homicides of Indigenous women and girls resulted in charges of manslaughter instead of murder more often than when the victims were non-Indigenous women or girls. Today, as we collectively raise our voices in a call for remembrance, solidarity, and proactive measures to prevent further violence against Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit, and gender-diverse individuals, we demand affirmative action in ensuring justice for those who have gone missing or been murdered. #sistersinspirit #NationalDayofActionforMissingandMurderedIndigenousWomenandGirls
On #SistersInSpirit Day, we acknowledge the growing number of missing and murdered #Indigenous women, girls and #2SLGBTQI+ people in Canada, and the strength of their families and communities who continue to grieve and advocate for change. #MMIWG2S #EndHumanTrafficking

Upon noticing the absence of representation for #widows at the “Invest In Women” financial conference, I reached out to the organizers via email to highlight the importance of including this perspective. I am grateful for the opportunity to speak at the conference and advocate for the needs of widows.
