#DYK that soil is home to two-thirds of life on Earth? 🌍 With 59% of the planet's #biodiversity residing in soil, it's crucial to understand its importance. Discover more fascinating facts about #soil and its vital role in sustaining life. via World Economic Forum

This is such an irritating click-baity post without proper referencing, such that you can’t find the source. The citation you need to know that the World Economic Forum won’t tell you easily is: Anthony MA, Bender SF, van der Heijden MGA. Enumerating soil biodiversity. What is dirt? There’s a whole wriggling world alive in the ground beneath our feet, as a soil scientist explains https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sardire_what-is-dirt-theres-a-whole-wriggling-world-activity-7178032034773184512-oHp9?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop Keeping this vibrant world healthy is crucial for food, forests and flowers to grow and for the animals that live in the ground to thrive. Here’s a closer look at what’s down there and how it all works together. Scientists have named over 20,000 different types of unique soils. If you’re curious about the soil and dirt in your area, the University of California, Davis has a website where you can learn more about local soils and their chemical and physical attributes. Caring for soil to promote its living creatures’ benefits and minimize their harm takes work, but it’s essential for keeping the land healthy and growing food for the future.

How do you increase soil health? By raising the SOM (soil organic matter). SOM in topsoil is 80% dead microbes. What are they made of? Carbon, N, P, K, S, & Zn. So how do we raise the population of microbes in the soil? By feeding them Liquid Labile Micro Carbons with every chain length of carbon included from 2 chain carbons to 10,000 chain carbons. Where can I get shredded carbon? From www.PriarieFood.com.

Certainly! Soil is a dynamic and complex ecosystem that supports a multitude of life forms, from microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, and protozoa to larger organisms such as earthworms, insects, and small mammals. The interconnectedness of soil organisms and their functions underpins the health and productivity of terrestrial ecosystems. Healthy soils are not only essential for agriculture and food production but also for maintaining biodiversity, regulating climate, and supporting overall ecosystem resilience. Recognizing and protecting the vital roles of soil organisms is crucial for sustainable land management and conservation efforts globally.

The perfect and error free system is NATURE or the NATURAL system. No machine, equipment or instrument can be error free except the NATURE. No creature can be useless, but we deal with limited knowledge and put hypothesis on the basis of our limited Knowledge and research. Ecosystem function is best example of inter relation of living things to living things and living things to nonliving things. To support nature I must say that if we the humans claim that we are the superior creature than is it not our duty to take care of our fellow creatures ( biodiversity) like wise some one said " if you want to led a healthy and long life, you have to go back to stone age" The anthropogenic advancement( carbon emission, green house gases, depletion of ozone layer, temperature increase, rising sea level last not the least BIODIVERSITY LOSS} is the actual cause of disbalance in NARTURE. The over night development is the degree of destruction against nature, very few people know about this fact. Let us join hands to make the fragile planet Earth a suitable place to live for us and our generations to come along with our fellow creature ( biodiversity) regardless of race, religion and region before there left silent stone everywhere.

Strange... not a word about pesticides/herbicides..... when talking about causes of soil degradation, erosion, impacts on that diverse soil life, etc. Solutions advertised in vid: machinery and surveillance tech.

Healthy #soil is also our best bet for #carbon storage. A transformation to regenerative agriculture holds promising keys to reducing climate risks while providing the growing world population with food and enhancing #biodiversity https://easac.eu/news/details/regenerative-agriculture-healthy-soil-best-bet-for-carbon-storage

Soil can also harbour pathogens like Ralstonia solanacearum and Phytophthora spp.! Protect your #crops trees and plants from disease with easy-to-use rapid tests, that provide in-field diagnosis within minutes - no prior training needed! Don't let #cropdisese ruin your harvest! 🌱
