Jon Evans’ Post

Proud Dad moment A shocking fact … by the time your daughter or son is 18 you will have already spent 90% of the time with them in your lifetime So it is extra special to me that this week my incredible daughter Amelie Evans is doing work experience in the city and I have be doing the commute with her and hanging out over breakfast Her work experience is 5mins from where I did my first job in the City so walking the same streets 30 years later takes me back I even confessed to how I got that job off the back of a fake interview that would have matched Mike from Suits blagging ability (Suits fans will know!!) Life goes by and this reminds me of the importance of slowing down and enjoying it with those you love Thanks to Camilla McDonald for setting up the work experience - you are a star!!!

90%? I’ve got something in my eye damnit. Aside from that stat, this post is great mate, enjoy! And good luck Amelie.

Me and my boy Isaac Ruys on his first day as an intern at ANZ Bank in the IT department. An area far from my expertise but he smashed it over 6 months.

How is it you are allowed to post pics of your eldest to social media. I would be cancelled in our house for doing this! Cute pic though :)

Love. Love. Love. Not the stat. That’s hideous. But I remember Julia Morrison reassuring me that the hugs just get bigger as they get older ♥️ (as ever, she was right). I hope Amelie has a brilliant week.

Oh this is so cool! I used to always treasure the time I spent with my dad in the car while he dropped me to the local bus station as I headed into the city to do my internship 🙏🏼

Hope it goes well for Amelie! You should get her on the podcast to share her experience and inspire others at this stage.

Love this! Reminds me of when my daughter turned 9, I woke in the middle of the night in floods of tears, my husband was naturally panicking - but I’d suddenly realised that roughly half of her time with us at home had gone!!! She’s now 11 and I’m making the most of every minute! I hope Amelie enjoys her work experience

And emotionally, I'd say 80% of it is after 18yo... everything in life is how you frame it.
