Is Today, the Day? With UNICEF reporting a billion children at deadly risk today in the 33 most climate vulnerable countries - which have contributed less than 9% to the heat trapping gases that will be trapping heat in our gossamer thin biosphere for centuries - today is the day to ACT. And that begins with a commitment. As Emerson advised - “let the dead past bury its dead and act in the living present with G-d over head and heart within.” We know what to do and we know how to do it. We only lack the courage of compassion for whose tens of millions of lives that have already been deranged from the Sudan to Syria to Bangladesh to nuclear armed Pakistan to the unprecedented, always building, famine and homlessness across North Africa and the subcontinent. Meanwhile, 36 years after James Hansen as NASA Director of Atmospheric Science testified to the U.S. Senate that there was a “99% certainty” human beings were dangerously warming the earth through burning #FossilFuels - every single nation on earth finally agreed at #COP28 to transition from a fossil fuel powered economy and 3X the already booming growth of renewable energy by 2030. October was a remarkable month for sharing expertise and knowledge!
