City of Union City Government’s Post

Yesterday afternoon, Union City was honored to be an official stop on the National League of Cities (NLC) Centennial Roadshow: 100 Years, 100 Cities. This year-long celebration marks a century of commitment to advancing local government and advocating for the interests of cities, towns, and villages nationwide. During this memorable event, Union City, Georgia's FASTEST-GROWING City, showcased its vibrant community spirit. The NLC guests were warmly welcomed by the incredible Banneker High School Drumline at City Hall. From there, they were escorted by our Police Motorcycle unit to the Gathering Place, where our Fire Department and Grants Division gave inspiring presentations on the impactful use of ARPA funding for critical initiatives. These initiatives are pivotal to pushing our City's R3 Master Plan to Reclaim, Renew, and Reimagine our community. The NLC's roadshow, which kicked off in February at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, will continue its journey across the country, spotlighting the diversity, resilience, and transformation of America's local communities. We are #ucproud to be part of this incredible celebration!
