The American economy thrives on #entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurs thrive on childcare. Yet, we face a #childcarecrisis, and current solutions just aren’t enough. That’s why we launched the National Commission on Childcare and Women's Entrepreneurship. Today, we proudly announce our Statement of Principles for the Commission! Our goal: to ignite new evidence-based practices and policies, helping entrepreneurial women find diverse childcare solutions so they can fully engage in the U.S. economy. The pay gap facing women, especially black women, is unacceptable – undermining our economy, harming our communities, and short-changing millions of women across the country. That’s why we continue to bolster our efforts to enact policies that will close the pay gap. #BlackWomensEqualPayDay

The power of #storytelling fuels our mission to advance all women and make meaningful change. By sharing our stories, we inspire each other to take action, pursue #leadership, and advocate for what's right. Seeing courageous women stand up and authentically share, lights the way for future female leaders. Thank you to the amazing women whose stories empower us all.

We celebrated more than 80 female business owners at the #TakesHeart event hosted in part by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Not only did we celebrate some amazing accomplishments, we also discussed challenges that #womenentrepreneurs face. Accessible and affordable #childcare continues to be one of the main concerns for women to be able to fully contribute to the economy, which United WE was able to share the latest national research on this topic. Takes Heart centered around the amazing art installation created by Laura Crossley as part of the Parade of Hearts. The art piece features many of the women #entrepreneurs that attended the event.
