More than ever before, the recent GSA conference included a keen focus on the direct care workforce. Here are two examples that have a common theme - #time to #think #1 My colleagues & I had a manuscript rejected but were not deterred! During our follow-up meeting about 6 weeks after leaving a postion (time to think); I said the reviewers beleive we have done research. However, we conducted a needs assessment. It was an 'ah ha' moment for all of us & we revised the manuscript. We are waiting to hear back from Public Health Nursing Jr. #2 I am a proud grandmother & want to be supportive. Our grandson was upset & I commented on how obviously upset he was (NOT helpful). After I reflected (time to think) I appologized to our son & acknowledged him. When situtations are obviously stressful it is best to be supportive & curious! TraumaCon is approaching! Here's another TraumaCon class we’re excited to see in 4 days: Not Black or White, it's the "Grey" that Matters! From TraumaCon: An updated version of the "Resources for the Optimal Care of the Injured Patient" was released in March of 2022 with a December 2022 update. The goal of this session will be to provide multi-institutional (adult and pediatric) perspectives and insight on the December 2022 version. The hospitals represented all have re-verified under the new edition. How those hospitals interpreted the "grey" book, and the results of their site visits under the new requirements will be offered. Learning Objectives: Increase knowledge regarding the process, and our experiences regarding trauma re-verification using the December 2022 "Resources for the Optimal Care of the Injured Patient."
