Day 10/10 of the career challenge with Careers in Public Health (CIPH) 🚀🚀 Today marks the final day of the 10 days of career challenge with Careers in Public Health🎉. It has been an amazing journey and it won't end here for me. Joining a challenge, whether personal, professional, or academic, can be a transformative experience as they push us out of our comfort zones and encourage growth in ways we have not imagined. Challenges help us build resilience and more than this, it is an opportunity for personal and professional growth. This is a little encouragement to embrace a challenge, and you might surprise yourself with what you can achieve. #10dayscareerchallengewithCIPH #10daysofcareerdevelopment

The Talent Acquisition team at PRN has been organizing the tips that upcoming graduates need to help launch their careers, and we've got a bevy of tips to share. INTRODUCING: "The Things You Didn't Learn at PT School." Here's what you can expect as a PT working in an Outpatient Facility: 💸Working outpatient retail gets patients in and out, quick and easy. It's designed to be for-profit, and visit reimbursement is very low. ⚖️Outpatient care offers a fantastic work-life balance! 🏡Home health may pay more, but because you're walking into people's homes, it may not be predictable. 👩⚕️You'll have access to mentorship as well as opportunities for continuing education, as well as skill development! Take a look at our job openings if you're ready to take the next step in your career, and keep an eye on our page next Friday for more tips to help students find their dream roles after graduation!

It’s Okay To Be Scared Of Change But Don’t Be Crippled By It. This was my catch phrase from Nurse Mayowa Racheal Popoola few weeks ago. The world around us is quickly evolving and to stay relevant, it means we have to evolve to embrace the new dynamics as well. In so doing, I’ve learnt some key things that each of us have to do in order to properly evolve with our environment. 1. 📌Self assessment: Look inwardly and find out which areas interest you, what skills you have to fit in and what do you need to do? 2. 📌Research and Planning: Make findings, what needs to be done and how should it be done. Information doesn’t come looking for you, you go looking for it. 3. 📌Education and Training: Increase your value! The world is competitive enough so you need to be competent and qualified for new roles. 4. 📌Coaching and Mentorship: This really cannot be over emphasized. People have been there before, let them help you. It’ll save you time, costly mistakes and give you a higher advantage 5. 📌Networking: Don’t limit yourself to your immediate surroundings! Connect with people and build meaningful relationships, opportunities, information or recommendations could come from anywhere! 6. 📌Maximize your Toolkit: Now when those opportunities come, the way you present yourself can make or mar you! Build a professional CV, optimize your Resume to fit the roles you’re applying for, apply for jobs and then prepare for interviews. 7. 📌And Finally, Put God First ——————————————————————————— Happy New Week everyone, I hope we’re adding value to ourselves every day. I’m Otumbari Uche-Mbah, a Public Health Nurse, Health Volunteer and a Public Speaker. Let’s Connect!

3 things you can do today to get clarity on your best-fit non-clinical career: 1. Reach out to one physician who’s in a non-clinical role you're curious about. Here’s a question to ask them: What does a typical work day look like? 2. Define your core values. Start by writing down what you care about, what makes you angry, and what gives you energy. 3. Create a vision for your life 10 years from now. And think about what you might need to say yes or no to in order to get there.

New graduate physicians, when selecting a position, tend to prioritize a combination of professional, personal, and lifestyle factors. Their preferences have evolved over time, with a noticeable shift towards valuing work-life balance, professional development opportunities, and supportive work environments. Here are key aspects that new grad physicians often consider when choosing a position: 1. Work-Life Balance: New grads highly value positions that allow them to maintain a healthy balance between their professional responsibilities and personal life. This can include flexible working hours, part-time opportunities, and supportive policies for leaves and vacations. #2 comes tomorrow!
