This innovative partnership with Stobart will cover over 11 million miles and is expected to save an additional 13,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions by year-end! Food waste is a global issue, causing significant environmental, social and economic repercussions; 33% of all food produced worldwide is discarded or wasted. To play our part, we partnered with the environmental charity, Hubbub, to launch our fourth employee engagement campaign on ‘Fighting Food Waste’, encouraging our colleagues around the globe to implement changes that help combat food-related waste. As part of this campaign, a number of our colleagues participated in a recent ‘Sustainable Living: Let’s Get Cooking’ event. This initiative aimed to equip employees in practical ways to minimise food waste; from utilising vegetable off-cuts, to maximising shelf life and encouraging plant-based recipes. This year, Playtech has prioritised the reduction of food-related waste, emphasising the value of sustainability across our offices. Small changes to our habits like bringing in lunch from home can have a big impact on the environment and potentially lead to other long term behavioural changes. We’re proud that each office has implemented at least one change to decrease food-related waste.
