Out with the old, in with the new. The demolition of outdated barracks isn’t just about bricks and mortars. It’s about improving our Soldiers’ well-being and readiness. 📰 Find out what’s planned at Fort Liberty ▶️ https://lnkd.in/e3tiYnuH
The Benefits of Dismantling. The benefits of dismantling and decentralizing the national power grid along with its Infrastructures can’t be understated any longer. Expansion and revitalization efforts will always translate to higher cost for electric energy, and these costs are always passed on to consumers while foisting massive impact on the environment. Only a complete disconnect from the grid can put an end to billing cycles and there by lower costs. Dismantling and Repurposing components and Infrastructures related to transmission lines reduces the burden on the grid and there by on consumers. Much of the grid and supporting systems are relic technologies. Decentralized energy delivery systems redistributes both contexts of power, both political and actual electric power. Additionally, the complete demolition of abandoned, uninhabited housing developments, extinct military bases, ghost towns and abandoned buildings will also relieve the over burdened and obsolete grid network regarding transmission lines and Superfund sites. 21st century Research and Development (R&D) efforts are rapidly advancing the state of the art in green scalable electrical energy producing sources.
BTW, my Air Force friends tell me they don't call them barracks, the official name is dormitories. Does anyone know how that came about?
Is this the beloved Smokebomb barracks that I spent so many miserable nights in?
I served in the Army 10+ years and aside from BT/AIT and short stints in the barracks during NCO academies (Bad Tölz, GE and Ft. McClellan, AL), I always lived off-post. The barracks I remember were by no means the Ritz. But they served their purpose. Seeing these comments is a bit off-putting but then not everyone's "military lodging" experience was the same right? 🤷🏾♂️
My apology I am a bit behind with the name change, but what was Fort Liberty before the new name?
Ft. Hood, TX (PLDC 92), CP. Humphreys Korea 89-90, Ft. McClellan,AL (BT) (88-89), Ft. Bragg NC 04-09 but a lot of that time was in the Middle East and North Africa three and half years. Those barracks look like Smoke Bomb Hill, Ardennes or Long Street? Dam that seems like a 100 years ago.
Did they request the soldiers exit the barracks along with personal effects first, or was that part of the readiness drill?
We had Vietnam and ww-2 era barracks back in 2002 Ft. Lost in the woods. Who needs AC
